Welcome!

My name is Betsy Ulbrich, and I am the Guidance Counselor for Hackett Catholic Prep. I have been in this role for over a decade! Prior to my employment with Hackett, I worked for seven years as an adoption/foster care/licensing supervisor with a private agency in Kalamazoo while completing K-12 counseling internships for Barry County public schools. I also completed my high school masters internship with Hackett Catholic Prep in 2010.  

I was born and raised in Kalamazoo, MI, having attended St. Monica Catholic School and graduated from Hackett Catholic Central. I gained a Bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and a Master's degree (in Counselor Education) from Western Michigan University. My husband and I have three daughters who attend St. Augustine Cathedral School and Hackett Catholic Prep. We are parishioners at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Augusta, MI.

In collaboration with families, teachers, staff, and the community, my role as High School Counselor is to support and facilitate the academic, career, and social/emotional development and well-being of all students.
